This past weekend a friend of mine was having a lingerie themed bachelorette party and the host of the party wanted to use one of the games as a focal point for the party's decorations. The game was a guessing/drinking game, where each guest had to bring a new pair of panties for the bride-to-be and the bride had to guess who brought each pair. If the bride guessed right the guest had to take a drink of their preferred beverage. If the bride guessed wrong she had to do the same. It made for a hilarious night. Needless to say my friend was not very good at this game!
The host of the party asked for my help with the game so naturally I
wanted it to be really cute and match the rest of the pink, black and
white decorations she had already labored over. We wanted the look of a
clothes line but with a sassy flair. I already had the paint and plastic
gems on hand from other previous projects. The glitter was purchased at
Walmart and the clothespins are from a local dollar store.
I painted each clothespin with a small paint brush from a simple kid's paint set. I let one side dry then painted the opposite side. After the paint dried on all sides I added gems with a small glue dot or added glitter to my hearts content.
As each guest arrived the panties where placed on the line while the
bride was kept out of sight as not to spoil the fun. I wish I would have
taken pictures of the clothes line once it was full but we were all
having such a good time we completely forgot to. Just imagine frilly, racy, girly, and silly stuff all on a line with bedazzled clothes pins!
I ended up only spending $4 for the whole project but that was because I had a few items already. The project should cost around $10 or less if you started from scratch. I think I might be more inspired to hang laundry to dry instead of throwing it in the dryer, if I had cute clothespins that is! This look could be easily adapted for a baby shower, any other theme party or even just to match home decor.
